Blitzkrieg is considered to be a myth. It is used to describe Germany’s interwar tactical and operational methodology during the 2nd World War. It was a coordinated military effort to create an overwhelming local superiority in combat power. The project aims to “perform” a Blitzkrieg using a selection of three of the most innovative and influential video artists from the archives of Electronic Arts Intermix.

Cheryl Donegan , Andrew Lampert and Cynthia Maughan are famous for their innovative approach of video art.  In the beginning of 90’s, Cheryl Donegan burst onto the scene with a new conceptual art practice. Donegan's work integrates the time-based, gestural forms of performance and video with forms such as painting, drawing, and installation. A trained film archivist, Andrew Lampert, combines a Duchampian attention to the gap between an artwork's private intent and public reception with an appreciation for the contingency of film as a medium.
Cynthia Maughan produced nearly 300 videos from 1973 to 1980, creating mostly short, direct-camera performances in which she stars in scenarios borrowed from a range of cinema and television sources.

Celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year, Electronic Arts Intermix (EAI) is a nonprofit arts organization that is a leading international resource for video and media art.  A pioneering advocate for media art and artists, EAI’s core program is the distribution and preservation of a major collection of over 3,500 new and historical video by artists.

The artist Takeshi Murata was commissioned to create a trailer surveying the organization’s history, reflecting also upon changes in video technology over the decades and playfully adapting EAI’s logo, which was designed by Ivan Chermayeff.  Murata's creation is a stunning homage to forty years of experimentation by artists.
